Latam Economic Forum Shows Its Most Compassionate Side Toward the Vulnerable

For more than 30 years, this institution has been a guarantor of the comprehensive well-being of society’s most disadvantaged groups. With excellence and empathy, it continues to support families, seniors, youth, and children facing situations of acute or chronic vulnerability.

The Latam Economic Forum once again demonstrates the vital importance of its mission to uplift the most vulnerable. Its empathetic and charitable dimension shines brightly as a true beacon of social support, as was evident once again during its eleventh edition, held on May 8, 2025.

For this 2025 edition, the initiative had a clear and elevated goal: to allocate all proceeds—both from sponsorships and ticket sales—to two key pillars of social assistance in Argentina. These are the Asociación Cooperadora del Hospital de Niños Ricardo Gutiérrez and the Fundación de Acción Social de Jabad, both of which have worked for decades providing essential aid to those who need it most. For the third consecutive year, these two organizations were the fortunate recipients of the forum’s raised funds.

This year, both institutions—cornerstones of the country’s complex social fabric—once again share the rewarding and encouraging results of a day that closely links the business world with the lives of society’s most vulnerable. “We believe the world can and should be a little better—for instance, when each of us takes a small but meaningful step within our own sphere,” reflects Alejandro Altman of the Fundación Jabad. “People—and I say this personally and from my experience working at the foundation—have an inherent desire to help others, to do good. For those who feel this calling, they simply need to see how it can be done. That’s where we come in, with experience and expertise dedicated to ensuring that donations and funds are used effectively. That’s why one of our mottos is: if you truly want to help, you’ll always find your place here. There’s always a place to help. And always means always.

A Solidarity-Driven Mission

The forum was founded by Darío Epstein more than a decade ago “with the purpose of creating an open space for analysis and reflection on topics of great social relevance and impact.” Among these, economic and political issues of current significance stand out prominently. Another central principle is that these discussions must lead to actions capable of generating a tangible social impact through the funds raised.

“We work based on a commitment to continuity, not circumstances. Social assistance never stops under any condition,” explains Altman. “From Fundación Jabad—being part of the Jewish community—we play a vital role of support and accompaniment. Our main goal is to assist those members facing specific moments of vulnerability. We do this through our ongoing assistance programs, which currently reach 3,000 people, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.”

Since its founding in 1989, the foundation has supported more than 15,000 people. Thanks to its wide range of programs and services—which extend like an active network—it can focus effectively on critical issues, particularly those aimed at preventing or mitigating social exclusion and its harmful effects on daily life.

Hospital Gutiérrez: A Pillar of Child Welfare

For seven decades, the Hospital de Niños Ricardo Gutiérrez has played an essential and strategic role, skillfully combining empathy with financial resources to meet specific needs that exceed the scope of the public health system’s budget.

Among its core functions are the provision of emergency medical supplies and the purchase of specialized equipment, as well as planning the construction of new units and specialized wards. Another key goal is expanding social assistance coverage—particularly for families of hospitalized children who lack the means to afford accommodation or transport during treatment.

Progress, though gradual, has been meaningful. For example, in the 2024 edition of the Latam Economic Forum, the funds raised by the event enabled the Hospital Gutiérrez Association to acquire state-of-the-art technology for its Ophthalmology and Neurology departments. The new equipment—including a special tonometer for children and a visual evoked potential device—is already improving the lives of thousands of young patients.
